If you believe that Amateur Radio is all about picking up a microphone and talking to friends and neighbours, or as many people have said to me in the past, oh, that's CB isn't it, then think again.
Amateur radio is a means of communicating in many ways and via many avenues, with the technological world constantly evolving Amateur Radio is evolving with it. Computers now play a pivotal role in many of the ways Radio Amateurs communicate.
This site will give you an insight to some of the things I am getting up to in Amateur Radio and I am only scratching the surface.
It is possible to talk to people via space or at times to astronauts onboard the International Space Station, send pictures or data around the world, build microwave stations, or to chat to people via radio or a combination of radio and computer networks via local repeaters.
I have been a "HAM" since 2007 and everyday I am still learning many new things.
Check out the slow scan analogue, slow scan digital pages where pictures are beamed live from my radio set to this website.
Visit my Recent Activity page where you'll discover who I have communicated with and where in the world they were from, see if you are in my online log..
Most of all, thanks for visiting and enjoy the site.
